Powers of Fate

Torq's full name, Torq Emada, is named for the real life "Torquemada" from the Spanish Inquisition.

Thank you for your interest in Powers of Fate. Below is our Recruitment Policy. These, along with the guild Guidelines should help you determine whether you feel Powers of Fate is the right guild for you. If you have any questions about these policies or guidelines, please feel free to contact a leader or officer in game or e-mail a leader at radjan@powersoffate.com or strumm@powersoffate.com.

Play-Styles and Time-Zones
We believe that every member of Powers of Fate should enjoy grouping and fighting along side each other as we dwell in the land of Norrath. We all have similar play-styles. We enjoy hunting for loot, but it is not necessary. We enjoy gaining experience, but a death is not going to force us to quit. We enjoy questing, but it will not stand in the way of an opportunity to do something together. We all tend to play during the same time period (Sunday – Thursday from approximately 8:30pm est – 1:00am est. Friday – Saturday from approximately 8:30pm est – all night). If you are interested in Powers of Fate, please consider these play-styles as your own.

We guild the PLAYER not the CHARACTER. Any active alternates must either be unguilded or guilded in Powers of Fate. If it is discovered that you have alternates in a guild other than Powers of Fate, we will issue a verbal warning. If the issue is not resolved, it will be grounds for deguilding. We take our relationships with our members very seriously, and hold close the fact that you are not in Powers of Fate because you fill a class need – you are in Powers of Fate because of who you are.

Communication is Key
We frequent the website and message boards. The message board is a vital communication tool for our guild. Here we post guild events, including raids and parties. We also post information about our characters, quests, and other information. If you are interested in Powers of Fate, you are required to register a global account with EZBoard and post in our public guild discussion section. Your recruitment will not officially begin until you complete this step.

Mature Audiences Only, Please
Powers of Fate is made up of young professionals who enjoy gaming as a hobby, not an addiction. We use proper English when speaking (and typing). In-game squabbles, rants, hissy-fits, and zone-wide arguments in /shouts and /oocs are considered immature and will not be tolerated. Differences are settled in /tells only and will not be made public. “d3\/\/d-sp34k” (dude-speak) is strongly discouraged and, if used, will be ignored by 99% of the members of Powers of Fate. The 1% who do not ignore you will reply with “What did you say?”

Our member ages range from pre-teen to seniors, with a good balance of single and married members, although the average age of our membership is around 30. We have four minors (under the age of 18) who have main characters in Powers of Fate. These minors are all family members of the guild leaders. They are, however, not above the regular rules set forth to be followed by all of our members and are subject to disciplinary action by the leaders and officers should the need arise. If you are a minor recruiting with Powers of Fate, please understand that if you do not act with maturity and with responsibility for your actions, your recruitment status and potential membership status may be at risk.

Our members that are married or in serious relationships DO NOT place EQ above their significant others. Nor do they place EQ above their careers. We believe that real life is more important than virtual life. If you are interested in Powers of Fate, you will feel similarly.

Every Guild is Different
There are many guilds in EverQuest. Some were forged with raiding in mind. Some were created for questing. Some were made to simply have fun. Powers of Fate was created for all these reasons, BUT we put friendship first. Raids are done with guildmates, quests are done with guildmates. And we have a LOT of fun. If you enjoy being with friends routinely and want to group with us to hunt, quest, party, or just talk, then perhaps Powers of Fate is the guild for you.

Currently, Powers of Fate has several characters in the higher-level range. We do, however, have several alternates played by both full-time and part-time players to round out our ranks, giving us several play options depending on who is online. Powers of Fate does not have a level requirement, nor do we judge you based on level. We will judge you solely on your personality and convictions. For a breakdown of our main characters and alternates over level 40, please check the Milestones page of this website.

Sounds Good… How Do I Start?
Send any officer (Radjan, Strumm, Torq, Shaylia, or Pusinbutes) a /tell in game if you are interested in joining us. Once you contact an officer about your interest, we will give you access to our recruits chat channel. We suggest at this time, you read through our website in its entirety as well as post on our message board so we can go forward with your application. The process will not officially begin until you have posted on the message board verifying that you have read through the website and fully understand the Guidelines not touched on here. It is helpful to secure someone in the guild as a contact point that you can ask about current happenings in the guild, as well as opportunities to meet other Powers of Fate members. Our recruit channel is a great tool, but sometimes things can still be missed. We want to give you every opportunity possible to show us that you belong.

The application process is easy… but not quick. We want you to have a chance to get to know us and for us to get to know you before an invitation is extended. We want our family to grow, but we also understand it’s a nurturing process. If Powers of Fate is right for both parties, an invitation will be extended.

Thank you for your interest in Powers of Fate!
