August 22, 2004 The website has been updated! In addition, I have created a new icon for Butes' Flagging Events (see the 'Upcoming' box to the right).
August 15, 2004 Hello guildmates! I have updated the website with several new dings, milestones, etc. Please take a moment to make sure that your characters are documented correctly on the Active, Milestone, A.A. Points, and Tradeskill pages.
Welcome Jaag to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Ronet to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Danjari back to Powers of Fate!
August 6, 2004 Welcome to the newly redesigned Powers of Fate website! I had several reasons for the change. Although I liked the purple dragon (and I know it was probably Draleon's favorite), I felt that the black background was too dark. In addition, I wanted to change the font used in the logo. Lastly, several of my files were lost when my machine caught a bad virus and had to be reformatted. Therefore, I took this opportunity to make the change and I have to say that it's my favorite design, so far.
The Graveyard has been updated; however, the pictures are gone. The time spent getting the pictures and editing them (along with the fact that many of them poofed on the reformat) could be spent doing more productive things (like playing) and I wasn't about to have another Corpsemania and chase Lewken around like an idiot.
Also gone are the revolving pictures to the right. In their place is a new section alled "Upcoming..." which will replace our calendar for raid and event notices and birthdays. The "Did You Know?" section has been replaced with the title "Curiously..." and includes updated fun facts (more forthcoming!)
On our Milestones page, the individual milestones have been replaced with milestone groupings of five levels starting at 30 and ending at 70, which is the projected new high level. As previously posted, the Milestones page will only contain main characters and alternates over level 40.
The Guidelines page has been updated with a draft of our revised guild policies, including a link to our Recruitment Policy. Once these policies are finalized, access to the guild member-only areas of the message board will be denied to everyone and special forum will be created on which to post your understanding of the guild guidelines. More on this will be forthcoming. The Guidelines page will also feature our guild's Charter and Creed instead of hosting them on individual pages.
I hope you enjoy the website, it has been quite a trial putting it together and cleaning it up. You may notice several broken links on the message board as many of the old images, screenshots, and signatures were removed. If your signature is missing, please let me know and I will reinstate it. The files were only removed, not deleted.
On the message board, the " " image indicates new messages on the forums. It will also be used to indicate additions or changes to our guild Guidelines and Recruitment Policies as we go forward. The animated banner at the top will feature newly redesigned raid logos such as:

July 11, 2004 Greetings, guildmates! I have updated the website for your reading pleasure. You may notice that the PINGS and LINGS are missing from the right side of the site. The figures posted under each of those headings were inaccurate and the upkeep was difficult. I had implemented those with the thought that the level 65 characters would not be featured under the "Recent Ding" ectionever again. Now, however, with the upcoming expansion and the rumor that the level limit will increase to 70, we will once again be able to highlight the levels of those toons.
Another change I made to the website was to increase the level limit of characters featured on our Active page to 40. This was done because of the difficulty of keeping up with so many alternates. This does not prevent anyone from guilding any of their alternates.
Changes will be coming soon to the Guidelines page of our website to reflect new and revised bylaws for our guild. This will also include rules and regulations regarding recruitment and new member invitations. More information will be forthcoming on our message board.
Poferpalooza II! All guild members are cordially invited to attend this Powers of Fate gathering in September. Check the message board for more details.
Welcome Liandra to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Liri to Powers of Fate!
June 13, 2004

Congratulations to Layren, Qyjari, Shaylia and Strumm, along with the members of Chaotic Neutrality, on their successful Hedge Event last Friday evening. Progression (bard) and Akiel (enchanter) of CN hosted the event through ORQ. Powers of Fate contributed with the main tank (yay Layren and the ability to Stonewall!), and two clerics (sorry, Radjan, they needed Qyjari instead.) At the end, just before hailing Thelin Poxbourne and waking from his nightmare, I was able to take a screenshot of the nightmare-giver herself, Terris Thule. It was pretty awesome!
June 6, 2004

This past Memorial Day weekend, several members of Powers of Fate gathered at our new home for poferpalooza(tm)! Anastisia, Demsey, Lewken, Padtole, Pusinbutes (and his wife), Surenady and Torq, along with Strumm and myself challenged each other to a weekend of DDR, Taboo, and the Great Dalmuti. Of course, there was plenty of food, as you can't sit around and chat about EQ all weekend without sustenance. *grin* We'd like to plan another gathering either this fall or next spring. Strumm and I are happy to host another one!
Thanks to everyone who (so far) has offered to die for the new Graveyard photos. We still need 15 of your corpses, though. Perhaps another Corpsemania will be planned soon. Remember, only MAIN characters are sent to the Graveyard upon their untimely demise.
Welcome Zimza to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Hitt to Powers of Fate!
May 31, 2004 Finally.
March 13, 2004 As you may notice, the Ding section to the left is a little full. I had just finished recording all of the most recent dings posted on the message board (and deleting them as I did) when suddenly Dreamweaver decides to have a fatal error and close. None of the Dings I had recorded were saved. Therefore, Strumm and I went through the entire guild list and updated every character's level as a Ding whether they posted or not. *grin*
In addition to the Dings, we have also implemented Pings and Lings! The Ping section is for the total number of Alternate Advancement points earned by our members who are level 65 (as they can no longer be featured on the Ding section for advancing in levels, now they can appear here with advancements in A.A. points). I know the numbers next to each name are inaccurate (except mine) - I just took numbers from the A.A. Points page and totaled them. When you have an opportunity, please post your current TOTAL number of Pings on the message board and the *last* ability you increased to be highlighted as well.
The Ling section is for "Leadership Abilities." Although these abilities are featured on our A.A. Points page along with the Pings, we thought it would be nice to keep track of these advancements here on the home page, too. This section is for all members, whether a main or an alternate of any level.
Congratulations to Kortee on his defeat of Renux the other night moving him one step closer to completing his epic! Kortee's Katastrophe has been added to the list of potential future raids (whether that's what he intended to do or not!)
February 23, 2004

Well, here's a motley-looking crew! From back, left
to right: Anastisia, Reynic, Kortee, Woodknight,
Strumm, Berin. Next row, Gwyddon, Torq
(seated), Demsey, Radjan, Hann (seated), Elff
(seated), Talik, and Oxnn (seated). We took this screenshot
after our very successful Droga raid last Friday night.
In other news... Strumm
says, 'Hail, An Undead Bard.' An Undead Bard says 'Hail, Strumm.
Are you perchance a minstrel?'' On Wednesday,
February 18th, our friends in All That is Gold were adventuring
in Old Sebilis when they discovered that the Undead Bard had spawned.
We quickly gathered our forces and made our way to the bowels of
that dungeon to take on Trakanon to finally complete Strumm's epic!
February 14, 2004 Hello
everyone! I spent a little time today sprucing up the website. I've
had the Celtic-looking artwork in my graphic files for a long time
now and wanted to use them somewhere on our site. I thought that
replacing the grayscaled dragons with it on the left of the page
would work well, in addition to making it the background for our
Dings, Little Known Facts, etc. While I was messing with the template,
I changed this center text area to "autosize" to the size
of each person's computer screen and I changed my "webmistress"
graphic as well.
Thursday night, Powers of Fate and All That is Gold
teamed up to do the Ring of Slime event in Cazic Thule. We had a
few deaths (Berin, Drevis, Kortee [x2], and
Strumm) and some linkdead issues, but otherwise had a very
successful co-raid with the great folks in All That is Gold. Thanks
to Reynic and Blitzfeld for co-coordinating this event
for all of us and congratulations to Hann for winning the
roll on the sole drop: a Bracer
of Viscous Ooze!
February 8, 2004 Greetings,
guildmates! It's been a busy few weeks for all of us in Powers of
Fate! We started out the month with a hard dungeon raid in Rujarkian.
Although we were short of our goal by three minutes, it was a fun
learning experience. What did we learn? You can't two-box the main
assist AND the healer. ;)
We also recently implemented our new "Tradeskill
Night" last Friday night in Plane of Knowledge. Many of us
were able to sort through our vaults of tradeskill items and use
them to increase our various tradeskill levels. We also spent some
of our guild bank funds on velium bars, electrum bars, and gold
bars to create some resist gear. Thanks to Reynic for helping us
out with this! Meanwhile, several of us grouped together and taught
each other languages. Demsey, Pusinbutes, Radjan,
Reynic, Romathei, and Strumm all achieved 100
mastery in all 25 languages.
I have made several changes to our website, including
a new milestone on our Milestone page. Level 43 is a milestone as
it is when a character can group with a level 65 character for the
purpose of raiding and experience. Also, I updated the graphics
on the page. On our Calendar page, you can view both the previous
month and the next month. The icons are clickable links to more
information on our message board. The Who's Who page is a work-in-progress.
Right now, selecting the menu to the right of the main character
just shows a list of that player's alternates. In the future, I
hope to do something similar to the Active member's page to show
more information for each character.
Welcome
Litlebear to Powers of Fate!
January
25, 2004 Congratulations to Reynic
on a successful raid last Thursday night in Droga. From his post
on our forums:
You guys rock :)
1) We got 2 Blades of the Depredator
2) We got a Mark of Imprisonment
3) Butes FINALLY got an upgrade!
4) Hann got a neat H2H item
5) Gwyddon got a level *grumble*
6) PoF got a new member (yay Baylen!)
and most exciting of them all...
7) we have our FIRST piece of Freeing the Prisoners gear in the
guild, with Strumm getting an Aged
Earring of Aptitude.
Thanks again, for coming together like you always
do to get stuff done. I'm very excited we finally got some quality
reward for all our time in Droga. For those that may be wondering,
when we did the turn-in to Pagik, he didn't despawn. This confirms
the thought that he stays up long enough to allow multiple turn-ins.
How long they stay up is unsure, but for now it seems we can piggy-back
on others finishing the prisoner ring event without disrupting
anyone. That's a good thing :)
Thanks for coordinating this, Reynic, and for all
the research and planning you put into it for us! Now if we can
just keep Baylen out of jail on our subsequent visits to Droga (see
Superfluous). ;)
Welcome
Baylen to Powers of Fate!
Welcome
Kortee to Powers of Fate!
January 17, 2004 It's
been a busy January for everyone in Powers of Fate! Congratulations
to everyone who dinged, pinged and advanced in tradeskills over
the last two weeks!
Welcome
Berin to Powers of Fate!
January 3, 2004 Friday,
January 2nd was a fantastic day for Powers of Fate! In addition
to running the Executioner's
Trial (three times) in Plane of Justice for Arbor, Demsey,
Qyjari and Torq, we also killed the Terror Matriarch
in Plane of Nightmare to complete the Phanti's
Malaise flagging quest for the Plane of Torment. Demsey,
Drevis, Pusinbutes, Radjan, Reynic and
Strumm were all flagged with the turn-in, Arbor and
Qyjari received the Terror Matriarch Venom Sack to use for
further group flaggings, Torq won the Iron
Scream Earring, and Demsey won the Ribbon
Choker on an open roll for an alternate.
With those accomplishments behind us,
and with a sense of excitement in the air, we thought we'd try to
take down a particularly nasty vampire in Katta Castellum. Nathyn
Illuminious is rumored to have over a million hit points, but can
be slowed, crippled, malo'd and nuked to death. Fifteen of us -
Arbor, Calron, Demsey, Drevis, Gwyddon,
Layren, Pusinbutes, Qyjari, Radjan,
Reynic, Strumm, and Torq, along with our friends
Berin, Delthanor, and Kralzul - took 19 minutes
to take down the undead enchanter! The resulting loot was the Robe
of Dark Beguilement which was awarded to Demsey!
I would also like to say Thank You to
everyone who participated in the mini-raids that allowed me to complete
my Shield
of Bane Warding quest. I have been trying to get this shield
for about a year now and although I currently equip a better shield
on Radjan, I have wanted to finish this lengthy and sometimes aggravating
quest. The kitty shield did not go to waste, however. It was a great
upgrade for Qyjari!
January 1, 2004 Happy
New Year! We're starting 2004 off with a bang in Plane of Justice
tomorrow night with a WildCard trials raid! Check the message board
for more details. Also, look for Radjan's Ruckus raids to return
soon.
Congratulations to everyone who has dinged recently!
I guess the time off around the holidays has gotten everyone into
a leveling mood. *wink*
December 18, 2003
Welcome
Raria to Powers of Fate!
December 15, 2003 Just
a quick update to add Romathei and his alternates to our website.
Romathei is formerly known as Whytknight and was once a member of
Powers of Fate. He was away from EverQuest for a bit and moved to
Germany but is back in the world of Norrath! He has chosen Romathei
as his main character.
Welcome
Romathei back to Powers of Fate!
December 8, 2003 It's
been a busy week for many of us PoFers! On Thursday night, December
4th, a group of six of us decided to attempt the Trial
of Execution in the Plane of Justice. The group was Drevis,
Layren, Pusinbutes, Radjan, Shaylia & Strumm. We were all very
nervous and excited about this, as some of us have never tried a
trial before. The first attempt was lost in the first round of mobs
while we adjusted to the fight. The second attempt was thwarted
by a wayward enchanter belonging to the previous group who had failed
to zone out of the executioner's arena and thus kicking Butes from
the zone. We were successful on our third attempt (see corpse of
dead uber_dude in photo above). As a result, we were all flagged
for higher tier zones and did the turn-in in Plane of Knowledge
for an alternate advancement point.
November
30, 2003 In between the turkey and the
stuffing and the holiday shopping, several of us found time to go
adventuring in the lands of Norrath. The Temple of Droga seemed
to be a nice place to visit... especially for Drevis and Torq (see
picture.) After a night of fighting, we were able to spawn King
Dronan TWICE and pry from his cold clutches the Copper
Hammer of Striking each time.
Others of us found time to
start working on their epics (Demsey), work on their tradeskills
(Pusinbutes), bump their graveyard totals (Demsey, Drevis &
Strumm) and do some serious leveling (Talik from 42 to 47!)
November 20, 2003 Greetings
fellow guildmates! I have updated the website today and, sadly,
didn't have a single dead_toon.jpg to upload. Either you're not
posting deaths, or you are all managing to stay alive. *wink*
Some of you may have noticed that I have not been
online much lately. Many of our "old-timers" may already
know this, but I am not as active in game during the Thanksgiving
and Christmas holidays as I am during the rest of the year. I have
a ton of stuff going on in real life, and that tends to keep me
very busy. Strumm and I are still job searching and I am spending
a lot of time doing crafts to sell at local craft shows. Also, the
house we're building
will be done in the next two months, so there's a move to anticipate
in the near future. I'll try to join as many planned raids as possible,
but probably won't just "hop on" unless it's to restock
Fenugreek. I check the message board daily, though, and will continue
to keep the website updated. I'll even make new dead_toon.jpgs to
upload as necessary. *grin*
November 6, 2003 I
want to take this opportunity to thank all of our guildmates for
who and what they are to Powers of Fate. The basic foundation on
which Powers of Fate was built has remained as true today as it
did almost three years ago. Ten of the original thirteen founding
members remain active in our guild.
We all have a lot of great times together online,
on TeamSpeak, and on our message board. We tease each other as only
family members can. We roast each other when possible, and lift
each other up when necessary. New members are learning the idiosyncrasies
of the old members and the old members have graciously accepted
the new members as if they have always been a part of our family.
The underlying tone in all of this is respect. And for this, I am
very grateful.
October 31, 2003 All
of our guys and ghouls are dressed up for the holiday! Roll your
mouse over the image to the right to see who's dressed as what!
October 28, 2003 Greetings
guildmates!
A few changes have been implemented in this update
to the website. As you all know, we've had quite a few new members
added to our roster. With these new main characters also came several
alternates. While this is no problem at all (any and all alternates
are welcome to be guilded) it has proven to be a website maintenance
nightmare.
Therefore, beginning today, we have raised the level
of alternates to be included on the Active members and the Milestones
page to level 30. However, if your main character is under
30, they will still be included on the Active members page. All
of your characters, no matter what level, are included on the Who's
Who page. Screenshots of our member's characters will only be taken
and used on the website when those characters reach level 30.
Also, the Graveyard will only feature main characters,
not alternates. Those alternates already in the Graveyard, however,
can stay. *wink*
Please understand that in no way was this meant to
"punish" anyone whose alternates are under level 30. As
a matter of fact, two of my alternates and four of Strumm's were
removed from the Active page. *grin* It was simply to make things
a little easier on the webmistress (me!) to maintain.
The Guidelines page reflects these changes. Look for
the "Active Members & Alternates" paragraph.
October 22, 2003 We
have several exciting raids and events coming up in our guild! Zzyrrin
has offered to host "MasterZ's Theatre" events which will
consist mostly of roleplaying and storytelling. Look for further
information on the message board about the upcoming "A Night
of Tales" this Thursday in West Freeport's Theatre of the Tranquil.
Reynic has also scheduled his first Wild Card raid
for the revamped Plane of Hate! Details can also be found on the
message board, or you can go to the guild Calendar and click on
the links provided.
With the recent additions of several new members,
I would like to encourage everyone to please make sure the information
posted on the Members' pages (Active, Milestones, Who's Who, Tradeskills,
A.A. Points, etc.) are up-to-date. If there are errors or additions
to your character(s), please post inthe Website Updates forum on
the message board. In addition to these statistics, I would also
like to request some "Little Known Facts" trivia and "Long
Ago" pictures for the website from our newest members. There
are threads for these items in the Website Updates forum.
Lastly, please enjoy the newest Superfluous additions!
October 16, 2003 It's
good to see so many folks active in our guild! Strumm and I are
very pleased with the warm, welcoming response to our newest members,
as well as the excitement generated by some of our older members
regarding grouping, raiding, tradeskills, and more! We would also
like to welcome back a couple of former members of Powers of Fate,
Layren and Zzyrrin. It is our hope to get them tagged and photographed
by this weekend.
As many of you know, I have been busy sending
out resumes and going on interviews here in the Atlanta area. Although
I have nothing official to report at this moment, I have a feeling
that I'll be employed by this coming Monday. This means that you
probably won't see a lot of me online during the day in game, on
the boards, or in chat. I will always check the boards nightly,
however, and plan to log in to play as often as I can. Fenugreek,
my alchemy bazaar mule, will still remain online during the day.
She just won't have much to say. ;)
Welcome
Layren to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Zzyrrin to Powers of Fate!
October 13, 2003 Added
some folks to the graveyard and updated the members' pages.
October 9, 2003 Updated
a few things and added Yopt.
Welcome
Yopt to Powers of Fate!
October 7, 2003 Congratulations
to everyone who has dinged in the past few days! I have updated
the appropriate sections as well as added Drevis and Erilous to
the Tradeskills page. Also, for ease of understanding, I have revamped
the Alternate Advancement page.
Thanks to Draleon for hosting "Draleon's
Dance of the Dead" raids. Look for his new logo to appear on
the message board chalkboard.
This coming weekend, Strumm and I are
looking forward to traveling north for Reynic's and Layren's real
life wedding on Saturday. There will be several other EverQuest
players attending as well and we're excited to finally meet them
in person. Because of this, we won't be online this weekend until
early evening on Sunday.
Welcome
Pusinbutes to Powers of Fate!
October 2, 2003 Hello
everyone! I've updated our members' sections including the addition
of some new members and some new screenshots. Speaking of screenshots,
if you'd like to have your characters' pictures retaken for whatever
reason (armor change, hair dyed, etc) please post in the Website
Updates section of our message board and we'll arrange a photo shoot.
To our new members and as a reminder
to our old members, please remember to check your character information
on the active members page. If you have any changes or corrections,
post them to the appropriate place on the message board. Also, I
need to get the birthdates of our newest members (just the month
and date, not the year. I don't need to be reminded of how old I
am.) *wink*
Reynic has volunteered to set up another
raid type called "Wild Card" raids. Watch for his new
logo to appear on the chalkboard in the coming weeks following his
real life marriage to Layren on October 11th.
Welcome
Reynic to Powers of Fate!
Welcome
Oxnn to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Drevis to Powers of Fate!
September
22, 2003 Congratulations to those who
dinged in the past few days! Several of you hit new milestones,
as well!
Please do not forget to R.S.V.P. for
the 4th Birthday Party this Saturday night! Details are on the message
board thread. In addition to the honorees listed in the September
15th news below, add our newest member, Elff, who has also played
EverQuest since 1999.
Welcome
Elff to Powers of Fate!
Welcome back Krannik (aka Korris) to Powers of Fate!
September 18, 2003
Updated a few dings and such.
September 15, 2003
Well, we're here now in the "land
of cotton." I think I've heard the phrase "Man, it's hot
here." about 172 times already. *wink* We've gotten online
a few times since moving and it's been wonderful seeing many of
our members adventuring! We hope to be able to settle into a normal
routine of playing now that we're here.
Party time! All members and friends of
Powers of Fate are cordially invited to attend the 4th Birthday
Party for those who have lived in the land of Norrath since 1999.
Those folks include: Arbor, Demsey, Draleon,
Faolan, Frasier, Jamili, Radjan, Strumm, Tavisa, and Torq. If I've
left anyone off this list, please let me know as soon as possible.
We will be celebrating on Saturday,
September 27th at 7:00pm EDT in Oasis of Marr (at the red
"X" on the map to the right.)
Birthday cake, root beer and other treats
will be served for a short time, then we'll break into groups of
appropriate levels and do Lost Dungeons of Norrath crawls. The crawls
are scheduled to begin at 8:00pm EDT.
Please R.S.V.P. on the message
board thread. We really hope to see everyone there!
Welcome
Hann to Powers of Fate!
August
29, 2003 Hello everyone! This will be
the last website update for awhile as Strumm and I pack up the computers
and load them into our cars for the 1100+ mile move down south.
We should be settled in by the weekend of September 6th, but may
not have everything un-packed / plugged-in / hooked-up right away.
Enjoy several new additions to our Superfluous
page! Something must have been in the air last night while we were
all online... or maybe it was Mars? Anyway... this was a great batch.
=)
Happy 4th Birthday!
Even though Powers of Fate is only going on three-years-old, there
are several of our members who have passed the fourth year mark
of playing EverQuest. To celebrate, we are going to throw a Birthday
Party!
Look for details coming
soon, but mark Saturday, September 27th at 5:00pm EDT as a tentative
party date. All other details will be forthcoming.
August 20, 2003 I've
updated a few dings and such. Enjoy!
August 8, 2003
Hooray indeed for Kaesora! Last night Strumm and I hopped on as
Sraleon / Tempero and Kaisey and met up with Canduin. We talked
him into joining us in Kaesora (I believe his exact words were,
"YES!!!!!!! I'll meet you at the secret bank.") and did
some serious butt-kicking in that exp-laden dungeon. We made it
to the church twice. The first time resulted in a little *ahem*
overpull and we had a bit of a corpse recovery. But the second time...
we cleared the church and held it for quite a long time. We were
excited at the prospect of getting some Xalgozian Fangs for future
Howling Stones keys, but Xalgoz never popped.
August 2, 2003
Greetings guildmates! I've updated a few dings and added a few folks
to the Graveyard today. Last Thursday, a group of us headed into
Kedge Keep for the experience of fighting in that zone and also
to see if Phinny was there. He wasn't, but was due to pop around
midnight.
We fought our way into his lair,
but there was already someone there camping him for his wizard drop.
*sigh* We stayed a bit and, after recovering from Demsey's untimely
drowning death, pulled the seahorses from below. We did okay until
Torq pulled two instead of one. Did you know that seahorses are
un-mezzable, un-stunnable, and almost completely magic resistant?
We didn't. ;) Anyway, we evac'd out of there and decided to work
on the Amulet
of the Grey Wastes quest in the Grey.
The Shissar Stalkers in the Grey drop
organs. Or so it is rumored. We certainly didn't see any that night.
;) Once you collect three organs, you can turn them in to Drenic
Garrison in Katta Castellum and receive the amulet which, when worn,
allows you to breathe in water or no-air zones. We had a couple
of slight *ahem* overpulls, one to whom Gwyddon was the recipient
of a fine "how-do-you-do" (see Graveyard), but otherwise
did very well with the exception of the lack of the aforementioned
organs.
July
28, 2003 What a very busy week and weekend
for a lot of folks! Last Wednesday, Faithae
took a raid of intrepid hunters to Stonebrunt to rid the zone of
evil kobolds! I have posted a pictures of this hearty band of adventurers
below. Tenanu enjoyed altering our various sizes - making giants
out of gnomes and dwarves out of barbarians! One screenshot made
it onto our message boards "Creative Captions" forum.
;)
On Friday, our goal was to head to Kael
to work on Coldain faction for Torq. Long ago, he looted a Corroded
Breastplate from Kael and acquired three flawless diamonds... the
last step was to be allies with the Coldain Dwarves in Thurgadin.
So, in we went to Kael Drakkel. We thought it would be a good idea
to hunt the bank in Kael... high level giants and the possibility
of great drops. We killed giant after giant and even (somehow) killed
one of the bankers! After a couple of hours, we noticed that the
bank giants were Kromzek faction and we weren't getting any faction
hits for the Coldain. *sigh* So, on the advice of our friend, Lolan,
we headed out of Kael and to Greater Divide to kill the giants at
the fort there. On our way past, we went into Thurgadin and Torq
checked his faction. Lo and behold! Allies! A few nervous minutes
later, and Torq became the proud owner of a Champion's Breastplate!
Also this weekend,
a group of us headed to the Crypt of Nadox to work on Legacy of
Ykesha spell quests. Radjan was able to loot Pure Blood, the fourth
and final piece of the Blood of Nadox spell quest. Qyjari received
a_blackened_vial. She still needs two more pieces to complete the
Pure Blood spell quest. While in Nadox, we picked up a couple of
items. Congratulations to Gwyddon on the Cap
of the Fallen Spirit! Congratulations to Demsey on the Garish
Sash! Congratulations to Torq on the Brined
Shoulderpads! We also spent time in Dulak's Harbor where Radjan
was able to loot an Empty Flask for her Stoicism spell quest, Qyjari
looted a Deepwater Emblem for her Temperance spell quest, and Strumm
was able to loot A Faded, Watermarked Book for his Song: Aria of
Asceticism. Draleon joined us for a bit and we were able to hold
the ship 'Windscorned' for awhile.
I was about to write that we didn't have
a single death all weekend, but stopped myself... we did have one
death due to invisibility wearing off. Enjoy the new entry in the
Graveyard. *grin*
Welcome back Anjaleen to the world of
Norrath! We're glad you're back, hon! Lastly, enjoy the new Superfluous
entries for this week... there are quite a few!
July 22, 2003
Hello everyone! I've updated a couple of dings and the Graveyard.
I think Novea either plays too much or is in a competition with
Demsey for the most deaths - ever - in EverQuest. *grin*
July 21, 2003 Just
updated some new dings and milestones. Congratulations to everyone
who advanced a level (or two!) in the past few days!
July 17, 2003 Hello
guildmates! I've updated the site today to include a few dings and
milestones... we have a new planes-ready shaman (woot Jams!) I've
also cleaned up the Milestones page, taking out the dragons and
making the table a little cleaner and (hopefully) more legible.
I also changed Surenady's graveyard picture... she must have donned
a new robe when I wasn't looking!
The member portraits have also been revamped with
a matching font for the rollover images. However, in reviewing the
member roster (the Guild Management Tool rocks!) I've discovered
that we're still missing several portraits of member's alternates
over level 20. The list is on the message board HERE.
If your name is among them, let's schedule a photo session soon.
I was able to sneak pictures of Tenanu and Ghomese at last night's
raid, so look for them in the random portraits. :)
We have two members listed on the website who are
not guilded: Bruss (Orland's monk) and Solidiel (Talik's monk).
Let's arrange a time to get these toons guilded soon. Fenugreek
(my bazaar alchemy mule) is an officer capable of guilding members,
so jumping into the bazaar is a quick and easy way to get them guilded.
July 14, 2003 Congratulations
to Torq who, after almost four years of playing EverQuest, finally
dinged to 50!
Also, congratulations to all of our newest Dings!
Several of whom pushed into the next Milestone.
It's been great seeing everyone online and joining
in the lowbie, midbie, and quest raids lately. Thanks to Faithae
for taking on the task of leading her "Faithae Fiasco"
raids for the younger level players. Rumor has it that several raiders
need to take revenge soon on a certain group of Orcs in Oasis. ;)
I know the summertime tends to reduce gaming time
for many people because of the gorgeous weather and family vacations.
If you happen to log in and do not see anyone else in guild, please
do not feel discouraged. Strumm and I are in the middle of building
a new home and moving 1,000+ miles from the northeast to the south.
We will always try to find time to log in and see everyone, but
if we happen to miss you while you're on, please know that you're
always in our thoughts. We both check the message board at least
once a day.
July 1, 2003 It
looks like everyone's had a busy summer so far and I believe it's
going to get busier! Of course, that hasn't stopped us from getting
together for some great raids!
Demsey's taken us to the Torgiran Mines where
we're on the lookout for components for one of his new spells. We've
also spent time in the Gulf of Gunthak looking for components for
other Legacy of Ykesha spells. We're finding out that some of these
drops are extremely rare, but the experience is so good, we'll keep
going back until we get them! During one such raid, Gwyddon dinged
49 and announced it by casting Ice Comet for us. We had a lot of
fun and, as hard has he tried, Demsey didn't die once.
Novea's got a new logo for her raids now. Look for "Faithae's
Fiasco" on the chalkboard and sign up! Her inaugural raid was
to the Temple of Droga to seek revenge on the goblins there (see
new addition to our Graveyard.) ;)
Faolan's "Midbie Mayhem" raids have taken
us all over Norrath to seek components for crafted armor. In the
four years we've played EverQuest, Strumm and I had never been to
the very depths of RunnyEye until just the other night. We didn't
get the dwarven runes we needed from the imprisoned evil eyes, but
we did kill Lord Pickclaw a few times and looted several pieces
of Blackened Alloy armor and a great Black Alloy Medallion (congratulations
to Canduin who rolled a 100 to win this item!)
I have added a new Calendar to our website. Look for
the new button on the navigation bar to the left. Once raids or
other events are posted on our boards, I will add them to the Calendar
along with a link to the sign-up thread.
June 12,
2003 Hello guildmates! I have updated
the website with new dings, including a new milestone, and an addition
to the Tradeskills page. Also, if you refresh the page a few times,
you may see some new "It's a Little Known Fact" messages
appearing! Thanks to everyone who contributed to the "What's
in a Name?" thread on the message board. Some of the entries
were quite long, so I've edited for length. If the edited version
of your entry isn't quite what you meant, please let me know.
Coming soon! Demsey has offered to lead some raids
for those who would like to quest for the Legacy of Ykesha spells
in the new zones. He has named the LoY Raids "Demsey's Demise,"
which means (of course) that I got to make a new logo! Look for
the new "Demsey's Demise" logo on the chalkboard and sign
up!
June 3, 2003 Updated
the Graveyard.
May 29, 2003 You
haven't adventured in Mistmoore until you've died in Mistmoore.
Lots. Today's Graveyard update is brought to you by the latest Midbie
Mayhem adventure in Castle Mistmoore. Enjoy. ;)
May 22, 2003 Hello
everyone! I've updated a few dings and added Research to our Tradeskills
page.
May 20, 2003 Updated
the Graveyard and a couple of dings!
May 12, 2003 Greetings,
guildmates! Just a quick update with new dings and our first official
corpses in the Graveyard. *grin*
May 10, 2003 Welcome
to the redesigned Powers of Fate website! I hope everyone enjoys
the new look and can navigate the site easily. It was a tough decision
in not using the superb dragon designed by our dear friend, and
budding cubist, Brazzo, but the golden brown dragon with maroon
lettering prevailed. For those of you who do not want it to go away
completely, I have posted it here.
Speaking of deaths to dragons and other monsters,
check out the Graveyard on the left side of this home page.
In an effort to reorganize the graphic files used
on this site and on our message board, several pictures out there
(mostly on the message board, but some in other locations) may show
broken links. I am making an attempt to find most of these and reroute
them to the correct file location. However, if you see a broken
link somewhere, please let me know by posting a message on the Broken
Links thread in the Maintenance forum.
Thanks to Faolan for taking the lead on several "Midbie
Mayhem" raids for the players who have characters in the 30's
and low 40's. We have gone to Mistmoore Castle (a couple of times),
Marus Seru (Greenpeace investigations notwithstanding), and Kaesora
(gotta love the experience in that dungeon!) I've designed a new
logo for Faolan's "Midbie Mayhem" raids, so when you see
that up on the Chalkboard on the message board, and you want to
join, be sure to sign up!
The following web pages were updated today: All of
them!
April 30, 2003
Just a quick update with a few new dings and
some fun additions to the Superfluous page. :) Enjoy!
April 23, 2003
Hello, everyone! The website has been
updated with all of the changes happening within our guild. As many
of you know, several of our high level players have left Powers
of Fate to form their own guild. Their leaving was an amicable decision
from all parties involved and we wish them the very best in their
future journeys throughout Norrath.
Let's raise a ruckus! Last night was the first of
what we hope will be many "Radjan's Ruckus" raids for
the members of our guild. Each week, I will post a raid to the Guild
Member Hunts & Raids forum on our message board. Some raids
will be for low level characters, others for those in the middle,
and some for the high level characters. The day will change each
week so that everyone will be given a chance, due to their differing
playstyles, to participate. Our first Radjan's Ruckus was in the
Gulf of Gunthak and we had a strong party of six including Gwyddon
(Strumm), Jamili, Torq, Xississ (Jikarer, in his last guild raid
with us), Qyjari (Radjan), and our guest, Gilamas (from Befallen
Phoenix). We all had a great time doing a "beach crawl"
then a "tunnel crawl" in Gunthak and hope to go back soon
to do the Cracked Finger Bone quest.
Congratulations and best wishes to Sarnath on his
recent engagement!
Congratulations, also, to Faithae and Faolan who recently
found some better digs and a faster internet connection! It will
be fun to actually see them both on at the same time!
April 10, 2003
Greetings, guildmates! I've updated the
website with new dings and other information.
April 4, 2003 Just
a quick update to the website with dings and other additions!
Welcome Canduin to Powers
of Fate!
Welcome Melkluak to Powers of Fate!
March 30,
2003 Sorry for the long delay in getting
the website updated! My main computer is now up and running with
almost all of the files from my old computer. I have made all the
changes and corrections to the members pages to the best of my knowledge,
but I am sure there are folks missing (especially the new froggies).
I will post a new list of needed screenshots on the message board.
The new level limit for the Member's page is 20. Characters
level 19 and below will still be featured on the Who's
Who page, but will not be moved to the Member's page until they
reach 20. Also, the new Retired Members
page has been added to the website.
The new Powers of Fate Guidelines
have been added to the website. These guidelines apply to all current
and future members. Please take a moment to read through them.
Powers of Fate has recently been accepted into the
Organized
Raiders of Quellious (ORQ). This organization allows many of
our "raid level" folks to join in raid that we, as a guild,
would not normally be able to attend. If you are interested in joining
an ORQ raid, please visit the ORQ message board, read about them,
and sign up. Remember, each individual raid leader is responsible
for the raid they are leading. This includes making level limits,
resist limits, loot policies, and even enforcing measures such as
taking away "raid points" for being late or not showing
up at all. Make sure you completely understand all raid rules before
joining an ORQ raid.
Congratulations to Kiton on the completion of his
epic!
February
18, 2003 What an exciting few weeks! Laoghaire
and Nyteshade both completed their epics (Congratulations!), we
celebrated our guild's second year anniversary, and we had a very
successful first-ever guild-sponsored Hate raid!
On February 8th, we met early in
the morning to take down Severilous in the Emerald Jungle. This
wasn't a planned fight, but thanks to many friends, a sufficient
force was gathered. Severilous dropped the scale Laoghaire needed
for the last part of her epic. Then, a 3:00pm Ragefire raid was
planned in Skyfire for Nyteshade and Katalyst (Outward Eye).
Twice Ragefire was killed in less than 46 seconds!
On Thursday, February 13th, we celebrated
our guild's second-year anniversary in North Karana by the Wizard
Spires. This area we dubbed Guild Hill because it was on this hill
that Powers of Fate was formed. Almost all of our main characters
were there to celebrate with us and those who weren't were there
in spirit. We played a match-the-items game by handing out Hand
Made Backpacks to each of our members (thanks to Gnobbi for the
high quality bear pelts for these!) Jikarer won the game by identifying
who had the matching items in his bag and by guessing which item
was unique to him and which item was owned by everyone (an Opal
Encrusted Stein). Thanks to everyone who attended!
On Sunday, February 16th, we held our
first ever guild-sponsored Hate raid. There were two solid groups,
including Caergillian (Befallen Phoenix), Curkin (Lolan),
Draleon, Gnobbi, Jikarer, Kiton, Laoghaire, Lolan, Nyteshade, Radjan,
Sharice (Fallen Eagles), Strumm, Torq, and Gwyddon (Strumm)
was used for porting in. Everyone received at least one piece of
planar armor for the PoK turn-in quest, many received two pieces.
Several drops were usable (CAWU) by the raiding members... Caergillian,
Curkin, Kiton, Sharice, and Torq all received planar armor. Cash
items netted over 11kpp and those proceeds will go toward re-payment
of reagents, for pieces of resist gear (10 blue diamonds dropped),
and for future guild-sponsored raids.
Guild Mules are now listed on the Who's
Who page. Please update the message board if you have any mules
guilded in Powers of Fate.
Welcome Lolan to Powers of Fate!
February 4, 2003
Hello guildmates! Congratulations on all the
recent DINGS!
Powers of Fate celebrated our second anniversary this
past December. Strumm and I would like to cordially invite our guild
members to a special party. Click HERE
for the invitation and for more information.
February 1, 2003
Greetings everyone! I have updated a few
DINGS and added some portraits to our members page. If you have
an alternate who still needs a portrait taken, please post a message
on the message board and we'll meet in game to have the picture
taken.
Plans are in the works for a Guild Party. Look for
more details on the message board coming soon!
Welcome Nicolaus
to Powers of Fate!
January
28, 2003 Hello everyone! We've had several
new DINGS lately and some character switches and additions. Therefore,
look for several new updates in today's "patch." *wink*
January 19, 2003 Just
a quick update to post new DINGS!
January 18, 2003 Hello
again! I'm on a roll with updating this website! Look for new DINGS,
a new "Little Known Fact," and some hysterical ramblings
from last night's adventure in Dawnshroud Peaks for some of us and
Splitpaw for others on the Superfluous page.
January 15, 2003 Just
a quick update to post all the new DINGS!
January 12, 2003
Hello everyone! I have updated the website
with a few new items. On the navigation bar on the left, notice
two new buttons: Tradeskills and A.A. Points.
The Tradeskills link
will take you to a page on our website highlighting the level of
skill our players currently have in any given tradeskill. When this
page was added our EZBoard forum was down and, therefore, I could
not get the information some folks had posted regarding their tradeskill
levels. I will update the page soon. Also on the Tradeskills page
is a link to EQTraders where
you can find the recipes and other information about tradeskills.
The A.A. Points page
is to highlight achievements made by our members in the area of
Alternate Advancement, including titles. Please visit the message
board to post information about points you have earned and spent
in Alternate Advancement.
On our message board, you may have noticed a new topic
called Website
Updates. This topic was created to replace the old "Character
Description Forum" (which has been archived to Miscellaneous).
Here, you can update your character's DINGS on the DING thread (for
characters level 15 and over) and on the WHO'S WHO thread (for characters
under level 15). You can also post Tradeskill levels and Alternate
Advancement achievements, as mentioned above. There are also threads
created to post items for the Superfluous page, the Long Ago page,
and the Little Known Fact java script shown on the right of the
website.
All the pages of the website were updated today due
to the re-formatting of the template. To make things a bit easier
for the webmaster (me), the DINGS only appear on the front page.
January 5, 2003 Greetings
Guildmates! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday and
is enjoying a new year! After a bit of a hiatus, we are back to
once again defend the land of Norrath from all things evil. Just
last night, in fact, several of us were instrumental in ridding
the land of East Wastes of evil snow bunnies! *wink*
On December 20, 2002, Powers of Fate celebrated our
second anniversary. Since it was during the holiday season, we decided
to postpone any sort of celebration. Therefore, any and all suggestions
for a party, raid, or other event are welcome.
We've had a few new faces to add to our Member's
page. If you're a new (or returning) member, please visit our website
and message board often, especially to post new levels for your
characters on the DING thread.
Welcome Demsey to Powers
of Fate!
Welcome Greay back to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Pyotrvaenus to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Talik to Powers of Fate!
December
7, 2002 Hello everyone! Today I updated
Dings that were posted on our message board.
Strumm and I thoroughly enjoyed playing Gwyddon and
Kaisey/Kerynna during this past Thanksgiving weekend. Several of
us converged upon Laoghaire and Gnobbi and spent the weekend in
their office surrounded by eight computers, seven chairs, several
bags of Doritos, four cats, dozens of cans of soft drinks and other
elixirs (*hic*), and a plate of homemade cookies. Although not powerleveled,
we managed to move our group of "kids" from dungeon to
dungeon based on our increasing levels. When the Library of Kaesora
dinged most of us into the mid- to high-30's, we ventured into the
City of Mist for more challenge. Torq joined us and with two groups,
we were even able to split-pull the Goo house.
Powers of Fate will celebrate our Second Anniversary
on December 20th. Any suggestions for a guild party / raid / event
/ celebration are welcome. Please post your ideas on our message
board.
Because of the magnitude of information on the Guidelines
page, the updates I made are highlighted in red.
The news for September 2002 has been moved to the Archives
page.
November
24, 2002 Congratulations to everyone who
has dinged recently! Remember to post your dings to the DING thread
on our message board so we can keep the Members
page updated and so that we can post you in the Recent Dings corner!
Now, I have a question for everyone...
November 17, 2002 Hello
everyone! I've been busy with the website this weekend and am very
excited about the new Members page.
The swap image behavior only works for Internet Explorer 5.0 and
later versions, so I'm hoping that is what most of you are using.
When you visit the Members page, please
double-check your characters, their level, race and class, and their
picture. If you find an error, please post a message HERE
on the message board.
November 3, 2002
I hope everyone likes the new Powers of Fate logo... I think this
dragon looks a lot fiercer than the old flying iguana we were using!
(*winks at Brazzo*) I have also incorporated the logo into our background
as well as the Milestones page. Speaking
of the Milestones page, I have lowered
the starting milestone to level 20. This will take a lot more maintenance,
but I realize that many of our main characters were left off when
the milestones started at 46. This, of course, means that everyone
will have to be more diligent in updating the DINGS thread on the
message board!
Strumm and I have updated our accounts with the new
expansion, Planes of Power. So far, we feel the additions of the
portal system in Plane of Knowledge and the new raiding system have
been beneficial to our guild. We were able to join together this
past Saturday in a "raid" of seven to tackle Plane of
Growth. This was much better than leaving someone out, or dividing
into two groups with only one group getting experience at a time.
As far as the portal system, we found that travel time between places
helps us to get grouped up more quickly so that we can enjoy our
time together, instead of spending that time traveling.
I would like to add more features and pages to our
website, including both fun and informative items. For example,
I would like to add a Tradeskills page for our members who are masters
in their tradeskills. This page would also include links to information
found elsewhere on the internet, such as www.eqtraders.com.
I would also like to add a Vault page to include items that are
currently on guild mules. Most of these items are spell research
components, but other items may be useful to members of our guild,
including armor pieces, gems for resist gear, spells, and more.
Let me know what you think of these ideas, as well as ideas you
may have for the site.
October
21, 2002 Congratulations to Gnobbi and
Nyteshade who both reached level 60! As you can see, Gnobbi celebrated
his triumph by implanting a "Mr. T" mohawk.
We say goodbye to a seldom-seen face in our guild,
but an oft-seen face in Norrath. Camdin (of Fallen Eagles who plays
Frostytouch in Powers of Fate) has announced his retirement from
EverQuest. As I did with Arbor (Plukk), his status has been changed
to "Retired." We would like to wish Camdin all the best
wherever the road may take him.
We would like to extend our happiest congratulations
and best wishes to Jamili on her upcoming nuptials this Saturday!
October 10, 2002 Quite
a rash of DINGS! recently! Congratulations to everyone who advanced
one, two or even three levels since I last updated the website!
*grin*
Here is a recent screenshot of us in Marus Seru. The
group included Aildaen (Jikarer), Atropa (Nyteshade), Gwyddon (Strumm),
Kaisey (Radjan), and Kiton. We decided to fight in Marus Seru after
the Calron Drowning Incident in Twilight Sea.
Kaisey enjoyed pulling as many mobs as she could
find in Marus Seru near the Sanctus Seru zone, offering Kiton several
mezzing opportunities. I believe at one point we counted over a
dozen mobs pulled at once including Stonegrabbers, Greyhoppers,
Zelniaks, and Rhino Beetles. We had a blast!
October 5, 2002 Hello
everyone! It's been a busy week this past week for me. For the first
time in a long time I have wanted to get experience for Radjan.
She is so close to 54 now and I'm looking forward to being able
to scribe and use the spells I get at that new level. Thanks to
Blitzfeld (Outward Eye), I attended a Kael raid on Wednesday night,
along with Dizziy (played by Kiton), Draleon, Gnobbi, Jikarer, Laoghaire,
Nyteshade. I had a lot of fun and was able to get some experience.
Then, Friday night, Draleon, Nyteshade, Qanon (Orland), Shakatha
(Legendary Defenders), Strumm, Zzyrrin (Legendary Defenders) and
I fought for experience in Maiden's Eye. There were a few close
calls and Draleon took it on the chin for us once, but other than
his death and a few trains pulled on top of us, it was a good night.
It's been a good week all around for guild members
getting together to have some fun -- even with the kids! Thursday
night we were rockin' Mistmoore Castle with Atropa (Nyteshade),
Kiton, Kydjara (Radjan), Kyramahn (Demsie), Morwenna (Faolan), Naku
(Strumm), and Slakin (Jikarer).
I have updated the Members
page and added thumbnails of everyone's main characters (except
Jamili and Kiridin --- I still need to get their screenshots taken).
I think the page looks a lot nicer and it's easier to see who plays
which alternate. If you have an active alternate who has reached
level 15 and you want them to appear on the Members
page, please post on the message board. If you have an active alternate
less than level 15, you can still have them listed on the Who's
Who page of the website. Post that information HERE
on the message board.
I have also made changes to the Milestones
page (newly designed milestone markers) and a new picture has been
added to the Long Ago page. Also, check
out the Superfluous page for a quip
from Qanon (Orland's magician).
October 1, 2002 Happy
Anniversary to our own Laoghaire and Gnobbi! Congratulations on
two years of wedded bliss! We love you guys!
September 20, 2002
Just a quick update to the Member Roster (welcome back Dionae!)
There were LOTS of new dings to update and several new alternates
to add to the Who's Who page. Also,
check out the Superfluous page...
we have quite a few comedians amongst us!
We still need to plan a guild event! Everyone think
of what you'd like to do and post on the message board.
The Creative Captions forum on our message board has
really been a hit with folks from all over adding their caption
ideas to each thread. But I don't want to be the only Guild Photographer!
If you come across a funny or amusing screenshot, let me know. You
can e-mail me (radjan@powersoffate.com)
and we'll upload it to the website for hosting.
September 10, 2002
Welcome our newest member, Kiton, to Powers of Fate! Kiton may be
a new player to Quellious and to Powers of Fate, but I *think* he
knows his stuff when it comes to EverQuest. I'll get his screenshot
soon to add to the gallery of photos. Also, welcome back Jamili
after a long absence. She was computer-less for a while and Raines
came to her rescue! I need another picture of her, too, since the
last one I took did not turn out well.
Glancing at the Recent Dings in the top right corner,
I realize that a good number of them belong to Strumm and me and
our alternates. Either we're playing too much, or you guys aren't
playing enough. *wink* Either way, we miss you all online and look
forward to seeing you again soon.
Concerning the party tentatively planned for this
Saturday night, it seems I missed a family event previously planned
and we'll have to reschedule the party for another night. *pout*
Look for more details on the message board and on the Events page.
Welcome Kiton to Powers of Fate!
September 8, 2002
Faolan! Where are you? Last night Strumm and I were online as Kaisey
and Gwyddon with Faolan in Castle Mistmoore. We were doing great
(except for Kaisey accidentally hitting the "ghost" in
the graveyard and aggroing the entire ancilles valley, but I digress...)
then Faolan goes linkdead and didn't return. We hope everything's
okay with him and Faithae.
Radjan was there watching over us and she wisely turned
herself into a bear for the mana regeneration. Except when that
wears off, the graphics show you... well... as Gwyddon put it...
in "bare form." Go to the Superfluous page to see for
yourself! *wink*
September 6, 2002
Greetings, friends! Just a quick reminder to check out our Events
page. We're trying to organize an all-guild party/hunt for Saturday,
September 14, 2002 at 9:00pm EST. More information can be found
on our Events page, or go to the message board. I've updated the
member page to add Torimor (formerly Tileran), a half-elf paladin
played by my son. Also, Aerendahl (Huirmidh's druid) and Morwenna
(Faolan's druid) were added as alternates. Remember, you may add
any alternate you'd like to the Member Roster if they are over level
15. I will be adding a "Who's Who" page with a listing
of everyone's alternates (not including levels) so we can all have
a cheat-sheet! *grin* EDIT: The New "Who's
Who" page has been added!
August 31,
2002 Hello everyone! We would like to
welcome Faithae back to the land of the active EverQuest players!
Her portrait (with a stunning blue background, I must say) has been
added to the list. I also changed her status on the Members page.
Also, welcome back Cerci, our bouncy, bubbly enchanter! I will have
to get her screenshot added to the list soon.
Strumm and I were out of town earlier this week. I
had a convention in Las Vegas for work and he accompanied me on
the trip. We had a great time, but missed all of you! It was 106
degrees when we landed on Monday and it didn't get much better,
even at night. As the locals say, "...but it's a dry heat."
We spent all of $11 at the slots and lost. The food, however, was
fantastic and we pigged-out.
Rumor has it Ahhagon will be traveling to see Orland
this weekend. We shall miss seeing both of them online, but look
forward to their return. Have a great time, guys.
And we hope everyone has a great time this Labor Day
weekend!
August 25, 2002 Congratulations
to Mr. & Mrs. Draleon Sho'nuff on the birth of their new little
Iksar! Isn't he adorable? He was born on Tuesday, August 20th. *SLURP!*
In other news, Orland *was* able to join us this past
Friday night in Skyfire. (Unlike last Friday night when he did not
actually join us in the Deep, but was sipping a glass of wine in
front of the television with Mrs. Fank.) The group started out with
Gnobbi, Laoghaire, Strumm and me (with some support from Raines)
and our friend Caergillian fighting all sorts of creatures in Skyfire
for experience (mad, exp, I tell you! Mad!) Ahhagon, Layren, Orland
and Sarnath joined us later in the evening. I have posted a couple
of pictures of us because it's rare when we're all online together,
let alone in the same spot.
Go to the Superfluous page to see what happened to
the "late night" group of us. I guess we were all getting
a little punchy. *wink*
August 17, 2002 We've had
a great time the last few days playing online with everyone! Draleon
was online a bit Friday night for an adventure into Fungus Grove
for the Caller Waves. We only had one group, which really isn't
enough to do the callers, so Ahhagon, Draleon, Orland, Radjan, Strumm
and Tolas ended up going to the Deep. It was Strumm's and my first
trip there and we had a blast!
Still waiting on Baby Draleon to arrive. We'll post
updates as soon as we know anything.
As you can see, the website has been rearranged a
bit. The Ding! box at the top right corner now says "Recent
Dings." Since the box won't hold everyone's dings from now
until eternity, only the last nine folks to ding will be featured.
We will, however, only list main characters and active alternates
over level 15. AND, only those who actually POST their dings will
be featured. If you want to see your character's ding listed, please
post on the message board.
We have also moved the navigation bar up to the top
left corner and added a link to a page we named "Superfluous."
This is where we moved the "Overheard" section and the
"When We Were Very Young" pictures. Speaking of those
sections, please let me know if you have old screenshots of guild
members to add. I will need the picture and the date it was taken.
Also, if you Overhear anything funny or amusing, let me know that,
too.
August 16, 2002 Hello! Updating
the members page with a couple of dings and adding Korris onto the
roster. Don't forget to post on the message board any active alternates
you would like to include on the members page (I've added mine and
Strumm's already). Yes, Gnobbi... ACTIVE. *wink*
Welcome back Korris to Powers of Fate!
August 13, 2002 Greetings
everyone! Updating a couple of pages on the site, so I thought I'd
change the logo on mouse-over as suggested by Brazzo (Outward Eye).
Unfortunately, the clipart file was all out of bovinical pictures,
so I went with "an EverQuest guild on the Quellious server"
instead. *grin*
August 11, 2002 Congratulations to Orland
for his new Elysian gear! Ahhagon, Draleon, Gnobbi, Laoghaire, Orland,
Radjan, Raines, and Strumm, along with Daog, Sunsin, and Valorn
(from Eternal Honor Legion), and Tolas, joined forces in Umbral
Plains. Along with some great experience, several pieces of Elysian
gear dropped and now Orland is one uber druid! (A new photo of Orland,
in his new gear, has been added to the website, refresh your screen
to see him!) Except for the part when Draleon decided to aggro all
the skeletons in the zone and the ensuing corpse recovery, we all
had a lot of fun! *wink*
Look at the Events page for a mini raid with our friends in Outward
Eye this Wednesday!
August 10, 2002 Just a quick
update to add Frostytouch back into the membership roster. Frostytouch
is Camdin's wizard. Also, Faolan has been changed from "inactive"
to "active" and he tells me that Faithae will soon follow.
I have almost everyone's photograph for the website.
Of the main active members, I still need Anjaleen. We'll schedule
a trip to the Overthere (where she hangs out) soon. Be thinking
about which alternate you'd like to include in our collage of photos
and we'll get those, too.
August 9, 2002 Well, here
it is! The brand new redesigned and updated website! We are still
looking for a few screenshots of faces so that we have everyone
represented. Originally, I had planned to have only the main characters
of our members. But since my wonderful husband Strumm, with a little
help from Gnobbi, figured out some cgi scripting, I believe we can
extend the photo album to include a favorite alternate. I can't
decide between Qyjari or Kerynna for mine. *wink* Let me know whom
you'd like to feature (of your alternates) and we'll get them on
the site.
Speaking of the cgi scripting... refresh this page.
Notice anything different about the member picture on the right?
How about the Little Known Fact? It changes (or should change) every
time you log onto the website or refresh the page. And every page
is like this! If you have an idea for "It's a Little Known
Fact," please post on the message board, we'll be sure to add
it!
May 14, 2002
The website has been updated! Sorry for
the lack of verbiage, but...you see...a bus full of, uh, aliens
landed in our backyard. Uh...they performed some sort of Spock-like
mind-control karate chop to, umm...our necks, and, uh...infiltrated
our apartment and stole our computers. Yeah! Just like that. Then,
uh, my Aunt, um...Estelle, she fell down and broke her left big
toe. It was gross, and we, uh, had to like, go help her out. In
Texas. Yeah, uh...we were in Texas. Then, we found this, uh...bar
of plutonium. So, it's been a little crazy around here. Congratulations
on everyone who leveled since, uh...March 13th!
Special congratulations to Tolas and Draleon who both reached level
60!
Welcome Sarnath to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Ahhagon to Powers of Fate!
March 13, 2002 Well,
I finally found some spare time to update the website. Sorry for
the longer-than-usual delay. We have had several DINGS and lots
of folks moved to new Milestones. Speaking of the Members page,
please go there to make sure I have accurately reported your MAIN
character, SECONDARY character, and TERTIARY character. (Reminder:
Only alternate characters level 15 or higher are included on the
Members page and the Milestones page.)
I am sorry to inform everyone that Cerci is taking
an extended leave of absence from EverQuest. She will be online
as often as she can from now until the end of the month. Then, she
wants to have us hold all of her items (non-no drop) on a mule just
in case her leave of absence extends longer than expected. When
you see her in game, please send her a *hug* and well wishes in
her schooling.
All of our members' characters from Tholuxe Paells
have been successfully transferred to Quellious. Nyteshade, Byttorr,
and Darbi. *cheers!*
Congratulations to Gnobbi for obtaining his epic,
the Ragebringer!
Congratulations to Ssyrrin and Banlighiche for recently
dinging to that ever-elusive level 50!
A cautionary note was added to the Enemies, Allies
& Friends page regarding the Circle of Companions. Please take
a moment to read this information. If you have any questions about
the Circle of Companions, please post in the Members Only section
of our Message Board.
We were saddened when Whytknight's quest came to a
screeching halt. The storyline (and all of its plot twists and turns)
was something we looked forward to sharing with the guild. The storyline
was based on the true history of Norrath (from Verant). Therefore,
the story will be completed as if the event had continued through
to the end. The prelude can be found in the Library under Knight's
Quest.
Speaking of roleplay stories, two new ones, written
by fellow guildmates, have been added to the Library: Legends,
by The Usual Muses; and Faolan's story, New Lives.
Coming soon! Strumm and I are considering penning
a new roleplay adventure for our guildmates similar to what we did
for Whytknight. Look for details here and on the message boards.
Last, but not least, if you have not already heard,
Strumm and I are engaged to be married -- for real this time. We
are very excited about our wedding, which will be held on Saturday,
June 29, 2002. Knights in shining armor do exist and they do fall
in love with fair maidens and they do live happily ever after. *smiles*
Welcome Faolan to Powers of Fate!
February 27, 2002
First of all, I cannot express to everyone how thankful I am for
all of your help, support, cheers, strength, patience, and love.
Last Monday night, a raiding party set forth into the City of Mist
to take down not one, but two fairly difficult quest mobs in order
for me to obtain my Spear of Fate. There are so many people to whom
I am grateful, I have started a Thank You Note, but have not finished
it. I have been working on it all evening and, although I have a
list of names in front of me, I am terrified of missing someone.
I know I promised that I would post it by Thursday, February 28th,
but I do not want to post a partial list. I hope to have it done
this weekend. Thank you for your patience.
I have updated the dings on the Members page as well
as moved some folks into new Milestones.
As an amusing history lesson, I have posted Radjan's
Fashion Diary for everyone to enjoy. It was fun to put together
and reminisce over my awful fashion sense growing up. *giggles*
February 23, 2002 Just a few updates
to the website, including the addition of Ssyrrin's druid, Coprinus,
to the Members page. The dings have been updated, also.Just to let
everyone know, all alternate characters under level 15 have been
removed from the Members page. This was only done from a bookkeeping
standpoint. Keeping up with younger alternate characters and their
levels was difficult. Therefore, when you get an alternate character
to level 15, please post the information on the DING thread on our
message board and they will be added to the roster. This, in no
way, means that you cannot have younger alternates guilded in Powers
of Fate. It just means that, until they reach level 15, they will
not be listed on the Members page.
Note: If your MAIN is under level 15, you will still
be listed on the Members page. This change applies only to alternate
characters.
February 19, 2002 A huge
thank you to Frasier for the wonderful artwork he did on the Powers
of Fate logo. He made our dragon more fierce and gave him some detail
- looks better than plain old clip art! Thanks, also, to Roisen
for re-doing the text part of the logo in order for us to use the
new dragon.
As usual, I updated some dings and remembered to add
Darbi to the Milestones page.
February 18, 2002 More updates!
Dizziy has decided to move her Dark Elf enchanter, Darbi, from Tholuxe
Paells. Look for her soon. We are still waiting the arrival of Nyteshade
and Bytorr from that server, also. Xississ (Jikarer's Iksar monk)
was guilded last night during our successful adventure into Kaesora.
Have I ever mentioned how much I love that zone?
I would like to thank everyone who helped me obtain
the Student's Log and the Icon of High Scale from the City of Mist
yesterday. The Spectral Courier finally dropped the rare Student's
Log and Draleon escorted me to the Icon ground-spawn. Thanks to
Draleon, Ssyrrin, Kylas, Torq, Banlighiche, Tempero, and Gnobbi!
Ssyrrin's roleplay story, Endgame, has been
added to the Library.
February 16, 2002 Greetings!
First of all, I would like to thank our dear friend Roisen for the
wonderful new Powers of Fate logo graphic and message board buttons!
I have cleaned up the website a little, making it simpler to browse.
The Guild Creed has been combined to one page, instead of five.
The Maps page has been incorporated with the Links page. Speaking
of the Links page, it has a few more helpful links for everyone.
(*Someone* thought the link references were a little bias toward
certain classes
*wink*).
Welcome Ssyrrin to Powers of Fate!
February 14, 2002 Happy
Valentine's Day!
I have updated the
well
website! Hopefully
the new logo is a little easier on the eyes and no one "ponders"
who we are. *wink* The site has been cleaned up a little, with new
information on the Allies & Friends page, as well a new Links
page. This page contains links to (most) all of your favorite EverQuest
lurking spots including many guild websites and/or message boards.
A couple of DINGS have been added to the Members page
a few of you are about to hit new Milestones! Congratulations!
February 11, 2002 I have
added our newest member, Jikarer (Aildaen) to the roster as well
as a couple alternates. I have also updated the DINGS. Congratulations
to everyone who dinged recently!
Just to let everyone know, our favorite lizard monk
is transferring himself to the Legends Server. Draleon will be missed
by us all, but he will continue to play his alternates here on Quellious
(Calron, Dralion and Dralaon) on occasion. Good luck to you, Draleon.
You are already a legend to me.
Welcome Jikarer to Powers of Fate!
February 9, 2002 Hello again
everyone! It's the weekly website update. There were a lot of changes
to the site, including the addition of a few new members! We are
very pleased to welcome back to EverQuest some very dear friends
of ours, Dizziy, Nyteshade, and Tamas. Kiridin comes with them from
another server and has been welcomed into our family. My real life
son, Tileran, joins us also. (His main, Heilo, is still a proud
member of Legendary Defenders.)
I have also added the next two chapters of L'autunno
Dorato. It can be found in our Library.
Welcome Dizziy, Kiridin, Nyteshade, Tamas,
and Tileran to Powers of Fate!
January 30, 2002
I have updated the website with a few new dings (even mine, finally.)
Also, we wanted to let everyone know that Chordh has
de-guilded from Powers of Fate. We hope she finds happiness in the
land of Norrath, wherever she may venture. Perhaps, one day, she
will find her way back home. If you see her in game, send her a
*hug.*
Welcome Orland to Powers of Fate!
January 23, 2002 Thank you
to everyone who attended the First Year Anniversary Party of Powers
of Fate. The Trivia Contest was a lot of fun, with questions that
stumped even me (I had to look up an old text log to find the answer
to one of my own questions!) Muzak, Strumm's and Plukk's in-game
triplet, won! It was such a surprise to see him online and I found
out later he re-installed EverQuest just to be able to attend!
The Corpse Drag Relay was hysterical! The winning
team consisted of friends from The Outward Eye guild. Tarf, after
his team was declared the winner, commented, "We found ourselves
to be quite easy to kill.... Also, we are quite accomplished at
both drinking and corpse dragging." The pylons (Torq, Frasier,
Cerci, Raines, Anjaleen, and Tempero) did a fabulous job on the
play-by-play. I almost fell out of my seat laughing when Frasier
said, "Tarf looks good on the outer track... he could go all
the way!" For the text log of the race portion of the night,
go HERE.
Perhaps this event should be done more often than
"annually?" Any thoughts?
As far as the website, I have updated the levels of
everyone who DINGED recently and I have changed Barlail's and Raines'
mains on the Members page to reflect their new mains, Huirmidh and
Gnobbi. I have also added the other three chapters of my role-play
story, L'autunno Dorato.
Welcome Anjaleen to Powers of Fate!
January 13, 2002 The First
Year Anniversary of Powers of Fate Party has been scheduled and
YOU are cordially invited!
January 2, 2002 Happy New
Year! Just a quick update with several new DINGS!
December
27, 2001 We hope everyone had a joyous
holiday season!
The members page has been updated to the best of our
knowledge. I've taken the level updates straight from the DING thread
on our message board. If you haven't posted a DING message, and
you've dinged recently, please post soon. Also, if you have created
a new Vah Shir (and you've been guilded), please add them to the
message board.
If your "main" character has changed and
you would like the members page to reflect this change, please let
me know by posting in the DING section of the message board. For
example, Barlail plays Huirmidh more often. Same with Raines / Gnobbi
and Laoghaire / Banlighiche.
Congratulations to Barlail and Shamara on their recent
(real life) nuptials!
With the coming of the new year, I hope to see
everyone back online in the land of Norrath. Although this holiday
season has been extremely busy for me, you all were never far from
my thoughts and prayers.
Welcome Woodknight (formerly Whytknight)
back to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Cercie to Powers of Fate!
Welcome Demsie to Powers of Fate!
December 20, 2001 Powers
of Fate celebrates its first year anniversary!
Thanks to everyone who helped make Powers of Fate
a wonderful guild! Check the message board soon for a party announcement!
November
7, 2001 Yes, I know, I changed the look
of the website once again. Hopefully this will be the last time
until I learn how to use Dreamweaver
then
watch out!
*smiles*
I have added the first chapter in my latest roleplay
story called L'autunno Dorato (Golden Autumn) which is the
story of the reading of the will of Tinglebranch, Coprinus and Ssyrrin.
More chapters will be published as they are written. I hope you
enjoy!
Congratulations to Banlighiche for recently obtaining
level 40!
The Milestones page has had quite a few changes recently
there are a lot of us who have mains or alternates in our 30's.
It has been quite enjoyable being able to group with guild-mates.
The "Race to the Top" award (note: this
is not really an award) goes to Gnobbi who is now level 40. The
little backstabbing gnome has been busy!
October
21, 2001 Congratulations to Shamara for recently obtaining
level 30!
I hope you all like the new look of the website. I've
been wanting to do this for awhile now. It's fun to dabble with
the layout and design and when I found the dragon clipart that resembled
a "P" I couldn't help but integrate it into our site.
The message board has been altered to reflect the new design, as
well.
September
26, 2001 Congratulations to Draleon on some ph4t l3wt from
this past weekend! It was a very exciting raid on Brother Zephyl
in Rathe Mountains. It's been a long time since I've been involved
in such a fun (and low-death) raid on such a high level creature.
Brother Zephyl is level 61 and quads for 350.
Haste! Thanks to a great group, both Arbor and Strumm
obtained the Noose from the Hangman in Trakanon's Teeth this past
weekend.
September 22, 2001 Just
a quick update to the website
I updated all the levels posted
to the Message Board
congratulations to Draleon on obtaining
level 56 and a new discipline! (Beware his Innerflame!)
Welcome Tarrok, an alternate Camdin, to Powers
of Fate!
September 13, 2001 Congratulations
to Strumm on his first trip to the planes! He and Draleon spent
last weekend in the Plane of Hate. As only one of two or three bards,
he received several pieces of Imbrued armor (greaves, vambraces,
and gauntlets) and two weapons (the Six Blade Note and the Martune
Rapier).
Radjan, Chordh and Arbor are all within a few
tubbles of being planes-ready! Because of this, we hope to strengthen
our ties with allied guilds such as Fallen Eagles and Legendary
Defenders.
August 28, 2001
Thanks to everyone who showed up at my birthday
party last Friday night at the Arena. Strumm and I had made birthday
cake slices after making birthday cakes which require frosting (easy
to buy), a lump of dough (milk, flour, and egg), and brownie parts.
"Okay... well... we're off to Lesser Faydark. Hope you don't
care about your brownie faction." Strumm also brewed up some
special non-alcoholic treats for us (malted milk, berry juice, and
root beer!)
Reynic showed up with fireworks and Spin the Bottles
for everyone. My long lost brother, Frasier, showed up for awhile,
as did Strumm's triplet, Muzak. Chordh, Camdin, Shamara, Huirmidh,
Vytor and, of course, Calron were all there. We had a few party
crashers, but they proved to be duel-worthy and we had fun blasting
each other.
August 10, 2001 Strumm and
I will be out of town on vacation during the week of August 11-18.
The PCs (two of them) are coming with us (duh) but we're not sure
what our connection speed will be at the beach house. Therefore,
we may or may not see you guys much that week.
The members page has been updated, to the best of
my knowledge. I encourage everyone to please post to the message
board whenever they *DING* so this page is current. I try to do
a /who all GUILD to see if anyone has leveled, but some of you go
anonymous
*tsk* *tsk.* *wink*
August 5, 2001 Well, it's
been a crazy weekend! I've been working on my tailoring skills *YAWN*
for the Coldain Prayer Shawl quest. I've never hunted so many lions,
lionesses, etc. in my life. I must admit, however, that this is
the way the game should be played (I think)... working hard to achieve
a goal. This is my personal goal for right now... to obtain the
Runed Coldain Prayer Shawl. I won't get it until after level 52
and until I become a master of (most) trades (baker, brewer, fletcher,
jeweler, potter, smith and tailor), but it's a goal worth achieving.
What is your goal? Short term? Long term?
Congratulations to Chordh for the completion of her
Nostrolo's Tambourine quest!
July 28,
2001 Strumm and I are pleased to announce a new officer to
Powers of Fate. Although Powers of Fate currently has its full quota
of two leaders and three officers, Laoghaire (and Raines) are both
in a semi-retired status and Torq is not online often. Therefore,
we felt the need to appoint another officer.
Chordh exhibits the qualities we look for in an officer,
seems to be well-respected by her guild-mates, and shares the same
gaming values. These values include her ability to interact well
with guild-mates and other players in EverQuest, her mediating abilities
when faced with adversity, her honor among groups when it comes
to looting, and her desire to help her fellow players with experience,
quests, and tradeskills. Chordh is also a very active player and
can be seen online often. She is a regular visitor to the message
board which is a major source of our guild communication.
Please join us in welcoming Chordh as an officer
of Powers of Fate.
July 15, 2001 Check out
the Members section of our website! It's been updated with all new
levels
some of us are just getting out of hell levels and
others are on their way in. I've added a Milestone page in honor
of those who have reached certain levels. Keep updating the DING
thread on the Message Board so I can include you on this page.
It's been a slow month on EverQuest for some of us.
Many have had real life commitments which have kept them from logging
in. I know work schedules have changed for some (Whytknight), some
are on their summer holidays, some folks are moving (Strumm, Laoghaire,
Raines), and some just needed a break (me). This doesn't mean, however,
that you all are far from our thoughts and prayers. Maire is ready
and waiting for Knight to return from his adventures in Mistmoore
so that she may give him the Third Test... Strumm is this close
to level 45
Torq has been rescued from Nurga and has been
bound in Thurgadin (muahahahaha)
and we REALLY REALLY need
to schedule a guild party soon.
Another suggestion, which we are working on, is loot
and the Powers of Fate policy on the collection and distribution
thereof. Please check out the new section Ph4t L3wt R3wlz, located
under the Guild Guidelines, and let us know your opinion of this
draft. Remember
Powers of Fate is not a loot-oriented guild.
If you play EverQuest for the sole purpose of collecting / trading
/ selling / buying loot, then Powers of Fate is probably not the
guild for you. We are a collection of friends and family first and
foremost.
One more thing
check out the Maps page! Now
that everyone is getting higher and higher in levels, we're all
exploring new areas of Norrath. These links are great for understanding
"how to get there from here."
June 23,
2001 The website has been updated again! WOOT! This time,
I've included updates on Knight's Quest, as well as Laoghaire's
story and postlude.
I know Whytknight has been having a great time with
this quest. The second Test took several (late) nights and tested
the patience of not only Knight, but those who joined him in Castle
Mistmoore. The Imp Familiar finally spawned this morning at 6:00am
est after nine hours of camping the graveyard and jail. The beast
was slain by Knight himself and he retrieved the Sacrificial Dagger.
Knight was told by Maire to meet her in the City of
Men. The third Test will be given to him at that time.
May 24, 2001
Welcome Laoghaire and Raines to Powers of
Fate!
May 23, 2001 Knight's
Quest has begun. To read more about it, go to the Library.
May 21, 2001 Draleon asked
me to remind everyone to please visit Allakhazam's Magical Realm
and post their MAIN character and ONE alternate character on the
Player Information section. You'll need to register and log in,
but it's free and easy.
Draleon frequents many zones in the land of Norrath
and is able to gather quite a bit of equipment some of us could
use. It will make it much easier for him if we had an area he could
go to to see if we (or our ONE alternate) needed something he's
found. Thanks!
May 20, 2001 Yes, yes, the
lazy barbarian shamaness has gotten off of her butt and updated
the Powers of Fate website. Many of the objects which slowed down
the site (pictures, mostly) have been removed. We would like to
have everyone's photo on the site, but alterations to their size
need to be made prior to this happening.
For those of you who enjoy the role-playing aspect
of EverQuest, I have posted the complete story of La Forza del Destino.
It is located in our Library.
May 17, 2001 On this evening,
Whytknight approached Strumm to ask for Jamili's hand in marriage.
As the patriarch of Jamili's family, Strumm told Whytknight that
he must complete a Test of Worthiness. The details of this Test
would be determined by the Council of the Tribunal and dictated
to Whytknight four days hence.
/ooc Strumm and I are turning this into a role-play
event for the entire guild. Whytknight will need the help of fellow
guildmates to complete the task(s) set before him. The levels for
this quest should be between 25 and 30 (approx.) and should take
several weeks to complete. Hopefully, arrangements can be made when
everyone can be available, i.e. weekends. Please show your support
for Knight and let him know if you would like to take part in this
event.
May 14, 2001 Congratulations
to Barlail and Shamara on their recent engagement
