June 14, 2007 Welcome back to Powers of Fate. No, we're not playing EverQuest again, but we've re-published the website exactly as it was when we closed the Guild Hall in December, 2005. The links should all work, but I would advise against visiting the Forum. We no longer pay for the EZBoard service or our EZBoard account names, so the Gold status has long expired. Unfortunately, rumor has it that EZBoard is strife with pop-up ads and the old forum may be filled with unsavory spam messages. Perhaps one day I will brave the boards and attempt to save old threads, but for now I dare not go where shamans (or undead rogues) fear to tread.

With the exception of this message, nothing has changed on the site and nothing further will be added.

If you'd like, feel free to take a "scroll" down memory lane...

April 9, 2005 (Message from Outer Space) Due to our web mistress being away due to happy circumstances, I am going to try and keep a log about what we have accomplished through out the week that I have been around to see, beginning today.

This week found us in an assortment of places. We started out Monday night with our pursuit of another step toward Canduin's epic. We zoned into Skyfire in order to hunt for those elusive shards that each cleric needs to have 4 of. As we crossed into Skyfire, we were met with a nasty AE spell...one of the larger guilds on the server was attempting to take on a fabled mob at the zone line. Canduin died and Berin, Kralzul, and myself made it back across the zone into Overthere. Well, Berin ended up dying with the remnants of the spell. Kralzul and Pusinbutes spent most of their mana maintaining their health as they hoped it would hold out for the 4 minutes the spells effect had on us. We got rezzed up, and seeing as how we figured on getting dispelled all night, we did not worry about getting buffed up. After checking with the guild that was attempting the Fabled mob (they had to retreat as well). We zoned over and made our way over toward the Burning Woods zone area. The slaughter commenced and we ended the night with 2 shards for Canduin.

Now granted my memory is a bit fuzzy about the rest of the week, but I seem to recall completing one LDoN dungeon I believe on Tuesday night. As we still still have plenty of items from this era that can improve our armor, we still find time to play in these zones at this time.

Wednesday and Thursday found us in Harbringers Spire. We found a named that potentially dropped an upgrade for Berin, and camped him for those nights, to no avail. He failed to spawn either night. However, Pusinbutes was able to pick up a third piece to a belt quest that he has been working on. With only one piece left, and a bit of faction work to do I'm looking forward to completing this in the near future.

Friday night found Berin, Kralzul, Pusinbutes, and Litlebear in Nobles Causeway. Pixt Trent was nice enough to spawn 2 times while we were there and thus Kralzul is 2 runes closer to being able to cast Conviction.

Saturday I was out of the game watching a movie, however when I logged in on Sunday afternoon, I found out that Canduin had been busy. He had managed to finish up the remainder of his epic! Congrats to Canduin!

March 9, 2005 Dear guildmates, friends and visitors: Sorry for the long delay in updating our website. Is this a record, maybe? *wink* Because of Strumm's and my impending arrival, and my expanding belly, updates to our website may be postponed until after our little one is born. I say 'may be' because there is still a chance, every now and then, that I'll get an opportunity to do a quick update.

Pusinbutes has been instrumental in keeping our family unit together and has posted in the "LFPlayers" section in game. Strumm and I would like to extend our gratitude to Butes for doing this and for being a strong presence and temporary leader to our guild family. If you're a visitor to our site because of interest in our guild, I would recommend that you speak with Butes if you have any questions. He is an exemplary representative of the guild that Strumm and I formed over four years ago.

Strumm and I have purchased the new expansion for our four main accounts (Strumm, Radjan, Gwyddon, and Qyjari) and we are looking forward to exploring the new zones (and our own guild house!) with our family as soon as I can spend more than 15 minutes in front of the computer.

All is going well for us in real life. As of today, I'm 27 weeks and growing. According to the baby websites, she's about 2 pounds and is about 14 inches long. We have all felt her kick numerous times! Strumm enjoys reading stories to her and makes me laugh when he shows the pictures to my belly, as if she could see. The nursery is all set up and, much to my husband's chagrin, her closet is nearly full of tiny little pink outfits. Her older siblings are all anxious to meet her and teach her all the tricks of being a kid. Strumm and I, of course, are very happy and look forward to expanding our family from five to six.

December 28 , 2004 Whew! Well, the fast-paced craziness of the holidays is finally behind all of us! I spent much of December decking the halls and wrapping presents and writing holiday messages and baking cookies and all the wonderful, exciting, exhausting things that happen every Christmastime since I can remember. I am looking forward now to adventuring once again in the world of Norrath.

On December 2nd, we held a Guild Officer Meeting to discuss various topics including the direction of the guild and changes to our guild Guidelines. Most notably, the changes to the Guidelines include the status of our Inactive players. To read more about it, please visit our Guidelines page. Look for the "" symbol as well as the current date for changes made to the policy.

Even with the release of the new games that have taken a few members away from our family, 21 of our members (mains) logged on during the month of December. It is our commitment to you and to our guild family to continue adventuring together as a guild in EverQuest.

December 20th marked our Fourth Anniversary as a guild family. Strumm and I would like to thank each of our members for their contributions in making Powers of Fate what it is today.

November 27, 2004 Greetings everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Through Fenugreek's eyes, I have noticed that many of our guild family must be busy with real life activities, keeping them away from the world of Norrath. This includes yours truly as I prepare for our first Christmas in the new house. Of course, many folks have also been AFK due to the release of other computer games, including EverQuest II, World of Warcraft, and Half Life 2. Several of our guild members have declared their retirement from EverQuest due to these other games, as well as other real life commitments. I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that Powers of Fate has no plans to leave EverQuest. Strumm and I are as committed as we have ever been to our guild and to our guild family.

I have updated the website to reflect the changes in our membership. Those who have recently gone inactive have been moved to the Inactive page. Those who have announced their retirement have been moved to the Retired page. Remember, these characters, although de-guilded, are still considered members in good standing and may request a re-invite once they are active, or choose to come out of retirement.

Powers of Fate will celebrate our 4th Anniversary this December 20th. As usual, the holiday season is a terrible time to try to plan an anniversary party (we haven't been able to plan one in December for the last three anniversaries) so we will plan on celebrating in January, 2005.

Welcome Leafkutter to Powers of Fate!

October 17 , 2004 Drornok Tok Vo'Lok proved to be the death of Powers of Fate (twice) last Saturday, October 10th as more than three groups of us cleared the Tempest Toad cave in Plane of Storms. Although the mayhem resulted in total party wipeouts, we actually succeeded in getting the frog down to about 4% when the last one alive (Pusinbutes) died. We had a very coordinated effort, thanks to Shaylia's leadership, and plenty of healing (Shaylia, Qyjari, Anastisia, Novea) but lacked the DPS for all of the adds Drornok spawned during the fight.

For the second attempt, we ran into the caves, which were still clear, looted all but one item off our corpses, stacked them neatly in a corner (Torq preferred to drag his corpse around with him... it's /corpsedrop, bro), and attempted the giant toad froglok a second time. Again, it was the lack of DPS that did us in and this time, we waited until all of the corpses popped in the PoS Graveyard to rez and loot. Even with two deaths for everyone, the fight got rave reviews from almost everyone in the guild. It was a blast to attempt and I, personally, can't wait to try it again.

You may have noticed a new choice on our navigation bar to the left. The "a.n.f.s.c.d." button will take you to the commentary page where Reynic plans to post articles about, well, just about anything. What does "a.n.f.s.c.d." mean? Click to find out!

We also have a new Graveyard story from Leonaerd, a friend of Powers of Fate, who posted his story on our message board. Lastly, enjoy the new Superfluous entries!

October 3 , 2004 Congratulations to everyone who received an epic piece during Zzyrrin's impromptu raid into Chardok this past Saturday night! The Prince was killed for Pyotrvaenus, the King was killed for Shaylia, and the Queen (pictured, roasting on an open fire) was killed for Torq.

Due to several requests, I have re-published the stories in our Library. Please note the new navigational button to the left. Although I eventually plan to re-write all of my stories, I thought folks would still enjoy them in their original form. If anyone would like to add their stories to the Library, please send me an email at radjan@powersoffate.com. Please paste your story into your email message as I will not open attachments.

Welcome Lazorus to Powers of Fate!

September 8 , 2004 Updated the website!

September 6 , 2004 Congratulations to Hann, Novea and Demsey on the completion of their epic quests in recent weeks!

Poferpalooza II took place this past Labor Day weekend with folks arriving in Georgia from all over the country including Michigan, Texas, Massachusetts, and Alabama! Overnight guests included Camdin, Jamili, Layren, Novea, Reynic and Zzyrrin. In-town guests included Anastisia, Danjari, Demsey, Lewken, Padtole, Pyotrvaenus, Surenady, Talik, and Torq.

The weather cooperated (no sign of Frances) and we got in a Friday night game of Hacky Sack and a Sunday afternoon game of Bocce Ball. On Saturday, we played Zzyrrin's version of 'Password,' and my version of 'Win, Lose or Draw' using EverQuest words. How, exactly, does one draw "Phinigel Atropos?!" DDR champions included Lewken and Reynic with honorable mentions to Novea!

As usual, there was plenty of food, snacks and drinks (there are still five bags of Pizza Rolls in the freezer, ladies!) Zzyrrin (our newest culinary graduate) treated us all to custard-style French toast Sunday morning, along with a very tasty quiche and biscuits and gravy.

Everyone who attended this Poferpalooza received a t-shirt (design below). On the message board, in our guild-only section, I have posted a picture of most of us. Jamili surprised us all by providing Powers of Fate temporary tattoos using the Celtic cross and dragon design from our logo. If you look closely at the picture on the message board, you can see them on arms, hands, legs, and, uh... other places. ;)

We also managed to get a few hours of actual EverQuest playtime here and there some early mornings and late nights. It was our pleasure to host this Poferpalooza and on the way home from dropping off our last guest (Zzyrrin for his 1:45 flight), Strumm and I were already planning the next one (probably next Memorial Day Weekend).

Look for a new Friday night event for the 65's starting this Friday, September 10th at 8:30pm. The "Wayfarer's Weekly" will be hard adventures in the Lost Dungeons of Norrath. The idea is to work together as a team in the harder dungeons, to advance our total dungeon points, and to generally have fun doing some intensive fighting. Types of dungeons chosen will be determined based on damage dealer sign-up and group make-up. Unlike other guild raids and events, TeamSpeak will be required for this event.
